New CoolJet ‘Eco’ Series increases both coolant and tool life.
Dimac Tooling, Australia and New Zealand’s leading supplier of accessories and workholding solutions for CNC milling and CNC turning machine tools, is introuducing a couple of new models to complement the existing range of CoolJet high pressure coolant systems.
“Over recent years it has become acknowledged that the standard coolant pressure on most CNC machine tools is usually quite low and therefore lacks effectiveness.
CoolJet solves this problem with a range of medium and high pressure units that provide significant productivity gains through a drastic cycle time reduction between 20 to 70% with increased speeds and feeds,” said Dimac Managing Director, Paul Fowler.
Other benefits include the elimination of heat related failure of the insert and a reduction in chip welding and ‘built-up edge’ in aluminium machining.
It also provides better chip control in low carbon steels, improved quality and speed of threaded holes and a reduction or elimination of work hardening associated with peck drilling.
Importantly it increases the life of expensive custom tooling and increases tool life in abrasive material.
CoolJet has now launched a new ‘Eco’ series that offers further benefits.
“The new Eco Series provides powerful media free filtration of 5um continuous filtering of your entire machine tool coolant. This is something unique to the industry and offers significant benefits,” Mr Fowler went on to say.
“You have no more messy and time consuming changing of filters, plus all your valuable machine tool coolant is filtered and re-used giving increased coolant life.
Longer tool life and a better surface finish are other benefits,” Mr Fowler added.
The new models are the EcoJet-20, EcoJet-70 and EcoClean. The EcoJet-20 and EcoJet-70 are 8gpm/30lpm Fixed Flow Units with 300psi/20bar and 1000psi/70bar pressure respectively. Both units have a small 61x61cm footprint.
The EcoClean models can be installed on any machine to solve tough filtration problems and is particularly suited for use on light cutting oils to provide 25um filtration. The EcoClean model has an ever smaller 43 x 30.5cm footprint.
“With the multiple benefits of longer coolant and tool life, better surface finish and a filter for life we expect the new CoolJet Eco Series to make a big impact in the market,” said Mr Fowler.
Dimac has over 30 years experience in CNC machine tool accessories and are agents for many highly respected brands such as Kitagawa, Reven and Eron. The company also manufactures soft and hard jaws in their own CNC equipped machine shop.
“Like all the products we sell, the CoolJet ‘Eco’ Series has the full back up and support of Dimac technical personnel to ensure the product operates at optimum performance,” Mr Fowler concluded.
The CoolJet ‘Eco’ Series is just one of the products that Dimac will be showcasing at Austech; Australia’s premier advanced manufacturing and machine tool exhibition held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Conference Centre in May. Other products on display on Stand 578 will include the Hydrafeed Barfeeder and the new Reven Air Cleaner which is certified to Industry 4.0 standard.
