Freddy takes the nightmare out of cleaning coolant
Dimac tooling, Australia and New Zealand’s leading supplier of accessories and workholding solutions for CNC milling and CNC turning machine tools, has recently been appointed the agent for the range of Freddy vacuum and recycling cleaners.
Freddy is a well known and respected UK based company established in 1962, which supplies international markets with the renowned mark i filtration machines, originally complementing the De La Pena oil brand. Since then the company has designed and manufactured the entire Freddy family of industrial vacuums and coolant filtration machines.
A common problem when using coolant in machine tools is that fines, swarf and dissolved metals can contaminate it, creating bacteria and fungus. This reduces the life of the coolant, resulting in the need for it to be replaced more frequently.
A Freddy vacuum removes the coolant at two litres a second, filters it removing the potentially contaminated fines and swarf, and then returns it to the machine for re-use, enabling the coolant to last longer.
“looking after your coolant can really improve your bottom line. Getting your coolant to last longer not only saves you money in terms of purchasing, but can also save you in other areas,” said Dimac managing director, Paul Fowler.
Using contaminated coolant can be detrimental for employees causing possible problems such as dermatitis, bronchitis and occupational asthma. Providing suitable protective equipment, and using a Freddy to extract the coolant and remove the contaminants can not only help to prevent this, but minimise any potential wh&s risks.
“machine tools also suffer from using contaminated coolant. If your coolant is not clean it can accelerate tool wear, and spoil the finishes,” Mr. Fowler went on to say.
A Freddy vacuum can protect a company’s investment in machine tools costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Using its unique set of tools, a Freddy ensures all contaminants and debris are cleared from even the most awkward to reach places thereby reducing downtime and expensive maintenance.
“Quite simply, Freddy can extend the life of your coolant, lower your operating costs and extend the life of your equipment whilst at the same time protecting your employees,” Mr. Fowler added.
Dimac has over 30 years experience in cnc machine tool accessories and are agents for many highly respected brands such as Kitagawa, Cooljet, Jergens and Eron. The company also manufactures soft and hard jaws in their own cnc equipped machine shop.
“Like all the products we sell, Freddy is supported by the full back up and support of Dimac technical personnel to ensure the right product is specified for the job and the machine operates at optimum performance,” Mr. Fowler concluded.
